Carlos Andrade: A Public Art Tribute in Ericeira

This artistic intervention celebrates Carlos Andrade, a leading figure in Portuguese basketball and a bridge between Portugal and Cape Verde.

Inspired by urban aesthetics, the painting merges basketball, surf, and cultural identity. The stylized silhouette of the athlete blends with the curve of a wave, while dynamic lines evoke the rhythm of the game and the fluidity of the sea.

With a color palette inspired by Cape Verde’s flag, enriched by vibrant and disruptive tones, the court becomes a living, energetic, and symbolic space.

More than representation, this work honors a journey of resilience and talent, turning this 3x3 court into a symbol of movement, identity, and collective inspiration.
